EASTON, Pa. – The Haverford College women's tennis team recorded eight victories against Division I Lafayette during a hidden dual at the Leopard Courts on Saturday.
The Fords finished 5-2 in singles and 3-3 across two rounds of doubles. Had the competition been scored in a traditional dual-match format, Haverford would have earned a 5-2 victory over the Leopards.
Aarti Prochnow defeated Marie Sofia Romaniello, 6-2, 7-5, while Isabella Paradisi conceded just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 win over Sophia Bald. Sarah Siolkowski swept Stella Dodd, 6-0, 6-0, and Mallika Reddy dispatched Ally Bauer, 6-1, 6-2. Keira Kapur completed the Fords' singles success with a 6-4 victory over Amelia Pericak in a match played during the opening doubles round.
The Fords opened doubles action with two wins in three matches. Paradisi and Adelaide Kreutel blanked Romaniello and Dodd, 6-0, before Prochnow and Reddy defeated Bauer and Isla Gibb, 6-1.
Kreutel added her second doubles victory of the day during the second round, joining Maddy Kayyali for a 6-0 win over Bauer and Dodd.
Haverford will next be in action at the ITA Southeast Regional, which begins Friday, September 25 at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va.
