HAVERFORD, Pa. - Senior Sam Cohen (Ellicott City, Md.) earned Centennial Conference Pitcher of the Week honors after a dominant two-start performance to close the regular season for the Fords.Â
Cohen went 2-0 across 15.0 innings, allowing just 10 hits and two earned runs while striking out 14. He opened the week with a win at Swarthmore, tossing 6.0 innings in an 11-3 victory. Cohen allowed five hits and two runs while striking out four. He followed with a career outing against Dickinson, firing a complete-game shutout in a 9-0 win. Cohen scattered five hits, walked one and struck out a career-high 10 over nine scoreless innings.
The shutout marked his first career complete game and was just the ninth complete game recorded in the Centennial Conference this season. Cohen closes the regular season leading the Centennial Conference with 65 strikeouts, a mark that ranks 39th nationally. He also owns a 4.64 strikeout-to-walk ratio on the year, the best mark in the Centennial Conference and top 50 in the nation.Â
The weekly honor is the second of Cohen's career. He also earned the final Pitcher of the Week award of the 2025 season.
