HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford College baseball senior Sam Cohen and sophomore Miles Prusek have been named to the 2025-26 Philadelphia Sports Information Directors Association (PhillySIDA) Academic All-Area Baseball Team, as announced by the organization Wednesday morning.
Cohen headlined the selections as the 2025-26 PhillySIDA Academic All-Area Baseball Performer of the Year. He becomes Haverford's first PhillySIDA Performer of the Year honoree since fencer Eric Chen earned the distinction in April and the program's first baseball student-athlete to receive the award since Tommy Bergjans '15 was recognized in 2015.
The PhillySIDA Academic All-Area Team is voted on by sports information offices from 30 institutions in the Philadelphia region. To be eligible, student-athletes must be in at least their second year at their current college or university and hold a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher.
The Centennial Conference Pitcher of the Year and All-Centennial Conference First Team selection turned in a dominant senior season on the mound. Cohen posted a 5-3 record across 10 starts with a 4.45 ERA and 1.43 WHIP while leading the Centennial Conference with 65 strikeouts in 54.2 innings pitched. In that outing, he surrendered just five hits while striking out a season-high 10 batters over 9.0 innings. Throughout the season, he consistently delivered quality starts, including a six-inning scoreless performance against Ursinus on April 17, helping anchor the Haverford rotation during conference play.
Prusek earned Academic All-Area recognition following a standout sophomore campaign that saw him emerge as one of the Centennial Conference's top offensive performers. He led the Fords with 53 hits and tied for the team lead with 36 runs scored while pacing the squad with 14 doubles. Prusek also ranked second on the team in batting average (.379), home runs (8), RBI (39), and OPS (1.158).
Among Centennial Conference hitters, Prusek ranked ninth in both slugging percentage (.679) and doubles. He delivered several key performances throughout the spring, including a five-RBI outing against Dickinson on April 26 and a three-hit, four-RBI performance against Washington College on April 18. In addition to his offensive success, Prusek was recognized as one of the region's premier defenders, earning a spot on the 2026 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) NCAA Division III Region V All-Defensive Team at third base after posting a .928 fielding percentage.
