WEST CHESTER, Pa. - The Haverford College baseball program welcomed back alumni last Friday, September 25 for its 18th annual Golf Classic, continuing a tradition that unites past and present Fords while supporting the team's spring break trip and other key initiatives.
Fifty-nine golfers teed off at Broad Run Golfer's Club in West Chester, Pennsylvania. There was a three-way tie at 11 under-par 61, and after the club's scorecard tie breaker was implemented, the foursome of Mike Tentilucci, Chance Griffiths, Justin Winkler and Matthew Sherman took 1st place. The foursome of Kevin Morgan, William Bannard, Chris Oakley, and Jon Fetterolf earned 2nd place honors, while Chaon Garland, Darren Garland, and Pat Gallagher finished third.
Andrew Johnson won closest-to-the-pin honors with a three-foot, one-inch shot, as Riley Grohowski secured the longest drive contest.
Saturday's scheduled Alumni contest was postponed due to inclement weather.
