HAVERFORD, Pa.— The Haverford College women's tennis team wrapped up a demanding weekend of competition at the Swarthmore Invitational, squaring off against familiar rivals Johns Hopkins University and Swarthmore College. After testing themselves against a perennial powerhouse Johns Hopkins squad on Saturday, the Fords showed resilience and flashes of sharp play in Sunday's hidden-dual matchups with the nationally-ranked host Garnet.

Haverford vs. Johns Hopkins

Against Johns Hopkins, Haverford battled through a tough slate of singles matches. Jolie Zink fell 6–3, 6–2 to Kamila Wong, while Aarti Prochnow was edged 6–2, 6–3 by Karah Li. Adelaide Kreutel, Sophie Capone, Mallika Reddy, and Natalia Chapa also pushed their opponents in straight sets and tiebreaks, showing plenty of fight against the nationally competitive Blue Jays lineup.

In doubles, Zink and Prochnow dropped a 6–1 decision to Wong and Claire Loftus, while Ava Li and Lia Melvin blanked Kirsten Close and Abhi Menon, 6–0. Karah Li and Sahana Sanjeev also earned a 6–0 result over Erika Phanord and Sriya Krishnan, as Haverford continued to search for rhythm and chemistry in its pairings.

Haverford vs. Swarthmore

Sunday's matches against Swarthmore produced a stronger showing from the Fords. Zink and Prochnow teamed up for a 6–4 doubles win over Paola Almeda and Lola Diaz, before Prochnow carried that momentum into singles with a commanding 6–0, 6–1 victory over Riya Rao. Zink also dispatched Madeline Posner, reaching deep to deliver a 4-6, 6-4, 10-3 victory to the Haverford column.  Kreutel, Capone, and Menon also tallied singles wins, giving Haverford several bright spots in an otherwise competitive weekend.

In doubles, Haverford's tandems found mixed results, with Close/Menon and Capone/Chapa narrowly falling in their matches as the Fords continued to fine-tune their lineup ahead of the spring season.

Haverford will close out its fall schedule with the program's annual Alumnae Day festivities on Saturday, November 1, before turning its attention to dual-match play opening in February.
