No. 34 Women’s Tennis Punches Its Ticket to the CC Championship with 4–0 Victory Over F&M

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The No. 34 Haverford College women's tennis team (11–10, ) collected a 4–0 victory over No. 41 Franklin & Marshall (9–9) on Thursday afternoon at the Bramall Tennis Courts in the Centennial Conference Semifinals. The win sends Haverford to the Centennial Conference Championship match for just the second time in program history and the first time since 2018.

With just one doubles point on the line, the Fords captured the early advantage with wins on courts three and one. On the third court, the Haverford duo of Mallika Reddy and Sophie Capone cruised past Kakie Colclough and Sarah Miller, 6–1, before Jolie Zink and Aarti Prochnow secured the doubles point with a 6–2 victory over Sahara Ahmad and Rebecca Bellick on court one to hand Haverford a 1–0 lead. On the second court, the pairing of Abhi Menon and Adelaide Kreutel held a 5–4 edge against Sophia Rhazali and Natalie Untermeyer before the match was halted due to Centennial Conference postseason rules that require playing to decision.

The first singles result came from the top flight, as Zink defeated Untermeyer, 6–3, 6–1, to give the Fords a 2–0 lead. Kreutel followed with a victory on the second court, downing Ahmad, 6–2, 6–2, as Haverford moved within one point of the clinch.

Securing the decisive fourth point was Menon, who earned a 6–4, 6–3 win over Amelia Squires on court six to complete the 4–0 victory for the Fords. The remaining singles matches—Prochnow vs. Bellick at No. 3, Reddy vs. Colclough at No. 4, and Capone vs. Rhazali at No. 5—were all abandoned due to the clinch.

Women's tennis will now compete in the Centennial Conference Championship match on Saturday, May 2, traveling to Swarthmore, Pa., to face the No. 16 Garnet. First serve is slated for 1 p.m.
