No. 34 Women's Tennis Closes Season in Centennial Conference Championship Match

SWARTHMORE, Pa. — The Haverford College women's tennis team (11-11) fell to Swarthmore (15-6), 4-0, in the Centennial Conference Championship at the Faulkner Tennis Courts on Saturday afternoon. The matchup marked Haverford's first appearance in the CC Championship since 2018.

Swarthmore secured the doubles point with victories at the No. 3 and No. 2 positions. Hannah Kideckel and Maya Morandat Stilling opened the scoring with a 7-5 win at the No. 3 spot. Although Haverford's Abhi Menon and Adelaide Kreutel took the No. 1 doubles match 6-4 over Riya Rao and Ella , the Garnet duo of Erin Li and Lola Diaz clinched the vital doubles point with a 7-5 victory at No. 1 doubles over Jolie Zink and Aarti Prochnow.

Moving on to singles play,  Strickler picked up a 6-0, 6-1 performance against Reddy at No. 3 singles to push the lead to 2-0, before Diaz extended the lead to 3-0 with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Zink at the No. 1 position, to bring Swarthmore within one point of the team victory.  Lisa Messier clinched the match and the Centennial Conference Championship for the Garnet at No. 4 singles, defeating Sophie Capone 6-4, 6-2.  The remaining three matches were left unfinished once the team result was decided. At the No. 2 spot, Haverford's Kreutel held a 7-5, 5-0 lead over Li., while Swarthmore's Kathleen Shiffer and Hannah Kideckel were leading their respective matches at No. 5 and No. 6 singles over Menon and Erika Phanord when play was halted.

The championship match has concluded Haverford's 2026 season. The Fords finished 11-11, reaching as high as No. 30 in the ITA Rankings on April 15, and made their first Centennial Conference Championship appearance since 2018. The young Scarlet and Black squad will look to carry momentum into the 2026-27 season, as this year's roster featured 10 underclassmen poised to take on even larger roles next season.
