HAVERFORD, Pa. – A pair of regionally-ranked teams will meet in the opening round of the Centennial Conference women's tennis championship tournament as Haverford College visits Muhlenberg College for a 4 p.m. match.

Haverford, ranked 13th in the Atlantic South region, enters the tournament as the fifth seed with a 6-4 conference record. Overall, the Fords went 13-6 and recorded their first season with double-digit wins since 2000. Muhlenberg, 12th in the Atlantic South, is the fourth seed after going 7-3 against the conference, 9-5 overall. The Mules defeated the Fords, 7-2, on April 5 in Allentown, Pa.

The winner goes to Baltimore to face the conference's top-seed Johns Hopkins Saturday, April 30 at 3 p.m. The semifinal has the three-seed Swarthmore visiting second-seed Washington. The winners will meet for the conference title Sunday, May 1 at Johns Hopkins. The conference champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Haverford has four players who each have 13 singles wins: Katie Wettick (13-6), Alex Ferrera (13-3), Kate Donches (13-4) and Helen Fisun (13-6). Katie Drooyan also has double-digits wins with 10 (10-8). In doubles, the No. 2 team of Donches and Drooyan is 15-4, including a win at Muhlenberg; the doubles team of Wettick and Ferrara had the other.

Muhlenberg's top player is Sara Sutker, who enters the tournament with a 10-4 record. The No. 2 doubles tandem of Danielle Winston and Lindsay Schimdt are 9-5. The No. 1 team of Caitie Druker and Sutker are 6-6.
