Men's Track & Field Trio Named to PhillySIDA Recognition

PHILADELPHIA – A trio of Haverford Men's Track & Field student-athletes were named to the 2025-26 Philadelphia Sports Information Directors Association (PhillySIDA) Academic All-Area Team, as juniors Owen Bluman and Luke de Valpine joined sophomore Thomas Fendig on the squad.

Bluman, of Pittsburgh, Pa., caps off an exceptional year by earning Academic All-Area honors. He was named the Centennial Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year for Indoor Track & Field. On the track, Bluman earned three USTFCCCA All-Region honors in the mile, 3,000 meters, and 5,000 meters, while also capturing First-Team All-Centennial Conference honors as a member of the distance medley relay.

De Valpine, of Berkeley, Calif., lands on the Academic All-Area Team after a standout campaign in distance running. He earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors in both the indoor 5,000 meters and outdoor 10,000 meters, highlighted by a First-Team All-Centennial Conference selection in the indoor 5,000 meters. He is also a multi-time Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll and Academic All-Centennial selection.

Fendig, of Chevy Chase, Md., secures his spot on the Academic All-Area Team following an impressive, multi-faceted season. He collected four combined Centennial Conference athletic and academic postseason honors this year, earning All-Centennial recognition in the 400 meters and as part of Haverford's relay teams. Most notably, he earned USTFCCCA All-Region and First-Team All-Centennial honors as a key member of Haverford's indoor distance medley relay. He also garnered Winter and Spring Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll recognition.

To be eligible for Academic All-Area honors, a student-athlete must be in at least their second year at the institution and maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or higher.

The Haverford trio is joined on the Academic All-Area Team by seven other standout student-athletes, including Performer of the Year Noah Wampole of Rowan. The team is rounded out by Kampton Kam (Penn), Ryle Mellinger (Eastern), Mason Moore (Jefferson), Luke Noss (Saint Joseph's), Tyson Scheitrum (Gwynedd Mercy), and Aiden Tobin (Ursinus).
