Men's Track & Field Picks Up 10 All-Metro Region Certificates

NEW ORLEANS  - The Haverford College men's track & field team earned 10 USTFCCCA All-Metro Region honors across five events, the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced in a release on Tuesday.

All-Region designation is awarded to the top eight performers in each men's and women's track & field event and the members of the top eight relay teams in each NCAA Division III region from the season-ending descending order list of performances.

Programs must be members of a Division III Program Membership Division who are in good standing with the USTFCCCA in order for their student-athletes to be eligible for this award.

The regions used for this award – East, Great Lakes, Metro, Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Midwest, Niagara, North, South, and West – match those used during the cross country and indoor track & field seasons.

The Fords displayed a strong showing of All-Metro honors in the men's track & field program, led by multiple distance standouts. Simon Lane was recognized in three events, earning honors in the 800 meters, 1,500 meters, and 5,000 meters, while Micah Lachman collected accolades in both the 1,500 and 5,000 meters. In the 5,000 meters, Lane was joined by Owen Bluman, Cole Branstrom, and Lachman, highlighting the depth of that group. The distance success continued in the 10,000 meters with honors for Luke de Valpine and Jakob Maiwald, while Jory Lee added recognition in the triple jump.

Lane will compete in the 1,500 meters at the 2026 NCAA Division III Championships in La Crosse, Wisconsin this week. Semifinal (preliminary) action is slated for Thursday, May 21 at 4:50 p.m. CT, with the finals slated for Saturday, May 23 at 1:35 p.m. CT. Each semifinal will consist of 11 entrants, while the final will include 12 total competitors—the top four from each semifinal heat plus the next best four times.
