HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's track & field team turned in a strong all-around showing at its annual Haverford Midweek Meet, highlighted by multiple event wins and a deep set of performances across sprints, distance, and field events. The 1,500 meters proved to be a standout event, as Simon Lane surged to victory in 3:49.13, a mark that ranks No. 12 in Division III this season. Lane will head into the Centennial Conference Championships among the top performers in the Centennial Conference this season as he ranks second in the CC in the event.
Owen Bluman (4:01.64) and Cole Branstrom (4:05.80) followed in third and fourth, respectively, with Torin Pelton-Flavin (4:06.66) close behind in fifth. Reef Kirchner added a seventh-place finish (4:10.51).
Out of the second heat, Wade Garoutte (4:15.90) finished ninth to round out the Fords in the top 10. Gopal Patel (4:20.16, 11th), Liam Deimler (4:20.55, 12th), Gabriel Bernstein (4:21.72, 14th), Jack McCurry (4:23.63, 16th), Garrett Miyagawa (4:32.62, 17th), and Nicky Elias-Gillette (4:36.16, 18th) all crossed the line for the Fords. Zenas Boamah led the way in the 100 meters, capturing the event in 11.48. Derek Linden (11.99, 6th), Jonah Hoffmann-Weitsman (12.01, 7th), Xan White (12.61, 8th), Kofi Kim (12.69, 10th), and Hongyi Zhang (14.45, 13th) also competed for the Fords.
Alex Geng added a runner-up finish in the 110-meter hurdles, crossing in 16.70. The 200 meters saw Thomas Fendig sprint to victory in 22.56, while Nico Greene placed fourth in 23.32. Mark Tringas (23.76, 10th), Linden (24.22, 13th), Emerson Koch (24.28, 16th), Hoffmann-Weitsman (24.62, 17th), White (25.94, 22nd), and Zhang (30.48, 25th) rounded out Haverford's finishers. In the 400 meters, Josue Laurore clocked a 1:09.45.
Haverford controlled the 800 meters behind a winning effort from Micah Lachman in 1:57.52. Wyatt Grace followed in fourth (2:01.07), while Ben Aaron posted a 2:25.58 for ninth place.
In the field events, Kyler Lee recorded a discus throw of 29.55 meters (96 feet, 11 inches) while also competing in the shot put with a mark of 10.51 meters (34 feet, 5.75 inches). Jason Mayo contributed in multiple events, clearing 1.60 meters (5 feet, 3 inches) to place second in the high jump and adding a 3.50-meter (11 feet, 5.75 inches) effort in the pole vault.
Jory Lee starred in the horizontal jumps, winning the triple jump with a leap of 13.56 meters (44 feet, 6 inches) and placing second in the long jump at 6.72 meters (22 feet, 0.75 inches), a new personal best and extending his 10th-best performance in program history. Tringas added a third-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 6.56 meters (21 feet, 6.25 inches), eclipsing Lee's previous top 10 mark, while Peter Beredjiklian landed sixth with a jump of 5.96 meters (19 feet, 6.75 inches).
Haverford capped the meet in the 4x400-meter relay, as the quartet of Ian Lihani, Aaron, Laurore, and Grace combined to run 3:40.10.
Haverford will now shift its focus to prep for the 2026 Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which are slated to begin on Friday, May 1 at Gettysburg College.
