CHESTER, Pa. — The Haverford College men's track and field team wrapped up the second day of the Danny Curran Invitational Saturday at Quick Stadium, posting strong performances in sprints, hurdles, middle-distance and field events.
In the 100 meters, Niko Beros led the Fords with an 11.30, followed closely by Thomas Fendig, who ran a personal-best 11.31. Zenas Boamah recorded 11.61, Samuel Lin ran 11.83, and Derek Linden posted a personal-best 11.95. Mark Tringas finished in 11.96, while Jonah Hoffmann-Weitsman ran a personal-best 12.05. Xan White clocked 12.57, and Peter Beredjiklian finished in 12.62.
The 200 meters featured strong showings from many of the same sprinters. Fendig ran 22.64, while Beros posted 22.91. Boamah recorded 23.76, and Lin ran 23.78. Jason Mayo ran 24.05, with Linden posting a personal-best 24.33. Hoffmann-Weitsman finished in 24.75, Alex Geng ran 25.06, and White closed out with 25.65. Emerson Koch ran 55.83 in the 400 meters.
In the hurdles, Ian Lihani ran 16.26 in the 110-meter hurdles for a 16th-place overall finish, while Alex Geng set a personal best at 18.14.
Middle-distance events included Reef Kirchner, who posted a personal-best 4:12.24 in the 1500 meters. Wyatt Grace ran 4:18.34, Gopal Patel clocked 4:28.52 for a personal best, and Garrett Miyagawa (4:35.41) and Ben Aaron (4:52.34) also competed.
Field events rounded out the day, with Mayo throwing 44.82 meters (147 feet) in the javelin and Tringas recording 5.95 meters (19 feet, 6.25 inches) in the long jump.
Next week, the Fords will return to action on April 3 and 4 at the Ursinus College Track & Field Festival, while a select contingent will head to the Sam Howell Distance Carnival at Princeton.
