HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford College women's basketball seniors Brianna Feifer and Caroline Orza, along with juniors Shae Mercer and Audrey Jakway, were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for the second consecutive season, the organization announced earlier this week.
The CSC Academic All-District® Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined achievements on the court and in the classroom. To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, be at least a sophomore academically, and either appear in 90 percent of their team's games or start in at least 66 percent.
Feifer, a senior from Frederick, Md., started all 24 games and averaged 9.6 points and 5.2 rebounds per game while leading the team with 1.4 blocks per contest. She added 1.8 assists and 1.8 steals per game, highlighted by a 22-point performance against Penn State Berks and a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double versus Keystone.
Orza, a senior from Chevy Chase, Md., started all 25 games and averaged 17.0 points per game, ranking second in the Centennial Conference, while adding 7.9 rebounds per contest. She led the team in scoring, recorded 10 double-doubles, and posted a season-high 33 points against Keystone.
Mercer, a junior from Graham, Texas, started 22 of 24 games and averaged 6.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and a conference-best 4.3 assists per game. She recorded a 10-rebound, 10-assist double-double against Keystone and scored a season-high 13 points against Ursinus and Bryn Mawr.
Jakway, a junior from Saint Paul, Minn., started 24 of 25 games and averaged 15.3 points and a team-best 11.1 rebounds per game, ranking second in the conference in rebounding. She also led the team with 43 blocks and 265 total rebounds.
The CSC Academic All-America® teams will be announced in April.
