WEST CHESTER, Pa. - The Haverford College men's track and field team opened its outdoor campaign on Saturday at the West Chester Purple & Gold Opener, hosted by West Chester University, with two throwers representing the Fords in the annual spring lid-lifter.
In the discus, first-year
Kyler Lee led the way with a 17th-place finish on a throw of 33.95 meters (111-4). Senior
Jason Mayo followed closely in 18th place, registering a mark of 33.66 meters (110-5) while also recording a personal best mark.
Lee also competed in the shot put, placing 17th overall with a throw of 10.71 meters (35-1.75). Mayo rounded out the Haverford entries in the event with an 18th-place finish, posting a mark of 10.64 meters (34-11).
The Fords will next be in action with a larger contingent taking to the track on Friday, March 27, as the two-day Danny Curran Invitational opens under the lights at Widener University.
