PHILADELPHIA - The 27th-ranked Haverford College women's squash team split the opening day of action at the 2026 College Squash Association (CSA) Divisional Team Championships at the Specter Center in Philadelphia, delivering a resounding victory over No. 30 Bard in Round of 16 action during the morning session before falling to No. 22 Hamilton in a quarterfinal matchup in the afternoon.

In the opening match of Walker Cup play against No. 30 Bard, the Fords controlled the ladder from top to bottom, sweeping the Raptors in decisive fashion across all nine flights.
At first flight, Joelle Phuah delivered a clinical 11-4, 11-0, 11-0 victory over Tarana Downer, dictating play from the T and conceding just four total points in a composed performance against Bard's top player. Zoe Liu was equally sharp at second flight, dispatching Catherine Chapel by an 11-3, 11-6, 11-3 margin.
Third flight saw Julia Carrasco turn back Hanna Okalava, 11-3, 11-6, 11-5. In the middle of the ladder, Avallina Orfield was dominant at fourth flight, surrendering just four total points in an 11-0, 11-0, 11-4 win over Nioby Rodriguez. Ofri Geva followed with a commanding 11-2, 11-7, 11-2 decision against Snow Queen at fifth flight, while Amy Saxon matched that efficiency at sixth flight, topping Teresa Kyaw, 11-2, 11-2, 11-2.
The lower flights continued the trend. Madeline Bulbulia weathered a competitive opening game before pulling away from Catalyna Contreras-Araya for an 11-9, 11-2, 11-5 victory at seventh flight. Matilda Chartener controlled proceedings at eighth flight, conceding just four points in an 11-1, 11-2, 11-1 result over Najla Nazari. Sarah Kotapka capped the sweep at ninth flight, earning an 11-5, 11-3, 11-2 win against Noa Baede.

At first flight, Joelle Phuah delivered a gritty five-game victory over Karis Sun, prevailing 14-12, 7-11, 11-6, 6-11, 11-8 in a tightly contested 38-minute battle. Phuah controlled key rallies late in the fifth game, closing strong to secure Haverford's point.
The opposition claimed the remaining matches across the ladder. At second flight, Poppy Huffman defeated Zoe Liu, 11-5, 11-4, 11-7. Diya Dhillon topped Julia Carrasco at third flight, 11-6, 11-3 (ret.), while Lily Spencer earned an 11-5, 11-1, 11-3 win over Avallina Orfield at fourth flight.
Sydney Hellinger turned back Ofri Geva at fifth flight, 11-5, 6-11, 11-9, 11-7, and Chiara Nadel claimed a straight-sets victory against Amy Saxon, 11-3, 11-4, 11-4, at sixth flight.
In the lower flights, Mila Karimov defeated Madeline Bulbulia, 11-1, 11-9, 11-1, at seventh. Gardner Huston followed with an 11-3, 11-4, 11-8 result over Matilda Chartener at eighth, while Natalie McCollum bested Sarah Kotapka, 11-5, 11-1, 11-8, at ninth flight. At tenth flight, Kathryn Swords closed out the match with an 11-2, 11-1, 11-1 victory over Angelina Xu.
After the 1-1 day, Haverford women's squash will travel back to the Specter Center on Saturday, February 28, taking on No. 26 Dickinson in the Walker Cup Consolation game at 9 a.m.
