TROY, N.Y. – The Liberty League office announced its 2025-26 Winter All-Academic Teams on Thursday afternoon, with the Haverford College women's squash team placing nine student-athletes on the squad to lead the program's winter honorees.
Liberty League commissioner Tracy King announced that 411 winter sport student-athletes qualified for the league's 2025-26 All-Academic Teams, marking the highest total for a winter season in the conference's 30-year history. The previous record of 410 was set during the 2024-25 academic year.
Winter championship sports include men's and women's basketball, men's and women's squash, and men's and women's swimming and diving. To earn All-Academic recognition, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in academic standing and carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or higher.
Nine members of the Haverford women's squash team earned the distinction: Julia Carrasco (Bryn Mawr, Pa.), Matilda Chartener (Concord, Mass.), Ofri Geva (Brookline, Mass.), Tyler Kinkema (Philadelphia, Pa.), Sarah Kotapka (Berwyn, Pa.), Zoe Liu (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Joelle Phuah (Selangor, Malaysia), Amy Saxon (Scarsdale, N.Y.), and Giselle Zhang (Guangzhou, China). Chartener, Kotapka, Liu, Phuah, and Saxon are repeat honorees.
"The Liberty League has always taken great pride in the academic success of our student-athletes," said King. "Our student-athletes continue to demonstrate that it is possible to not only excel academically but to achieve athletically at the highest levels in Division III. I congratulate and salute them on their outstanding academic achievements."
The announcement follows a strong showing at the Liberty League Championships, where the Fords secured third place for the second consecutive season. Haverford closed the event with a victory over No. 28 William Smith at the Robie Squash Center in Canton, N.Y., to claim the bronze position.
