HAVERFORD, Pa. - The 27th-ranked Haverford College women's squash team (6-11) celebrated Senior Day at the GIAC Squash Courts on Saturday afternoon, honoring Amy Saxon in a pre-match ceremony before first serve against the 23rd-ranked Continentals of Hamilton (7-9). When play began, the visitors emerged with an 8-1 victory.
Haverford showed promise at the first flight, as Joelle Phuah defeated Karis Sun 11-6, 11-5, 11-7 for a crucial tally on the Haverford side of the column.Â
At the second flight, Poppy Huffman earned a 3-0 win over Zoe Liu, 11-9, 11-9, 11-6, while the third flight saw Diya Dhillon handle Julia Carrasco 11-3, 11-2, 11-6.
The fourth flight produced a competitive four-game match, with Lily Spencer prevailing over Avallina Orfield 11-4, 11-6, 9-11, 11-6. Orfield fended off a sweep before Spencer was able to close out the match.
Sydney Hellinger earned a 3-0 victory at the fifth flight against Ofri Geva, 11-7, 17-15, 11-4, while Chiara Nadel defeated Amy Saxon 11-8, 11-4, 11-0 at the sixth flight.
At the seventh flight, Mila Karimov topped Madeline Bulbulia 11-8, 11-7, 5-11, 11-3 as Bulbulia was able to also fend off a sweep with a resounding third game victory. Gardner Huston earned a 3-0 win at the eighth flight over Matilda Chartener, 11-6, 11-9, 11-2, and Natalie McCollum handled Sarah Kotapka 11-6, 11-5, 11-3 at the ninth flight.
In the exhibition matchup at the tenth flight, Kathryn Swords defeated Angelina Xu 11-3, 11-1, 11-3.
With regular season competition now complete, the Fords now turn their attention to the second and final postseason competition of the 2025-26 season, as the College Squash Association (CSA) Divisional Team Championships begin Friday, February 27, at the Specter Center, the National Squash Center in Philadelphia's University City.
