HAVERFORD, Pa. - After a standout performance at the top flight for the Haverford College women's squash team at the Liberty League Championships, junior captain Joelle Phuah has been named to the Liberty League Weekly Honor Roll. Phuah anchored the top of the ladder for No. 27 Haverford at the annual championships in Canton, N.Y., delivering a decisive showing that helped propel the Fords to a 2-1 weekend and a third-place finish at the St. Lawrence-hosted event.
Opening championship play against No. 31 Vassar, Phuah set the tone immediately in the first flight with a commanding straight-game victory over Charlotte Tobin (11-5, 11-7, 11-1). Her dominant performance sparked a 7-2 team win and established early momentum for the Scarlet and Black. In Sunday's third-place match against No. 28 William Smith, Phuah once again delivered at the top spot, earning a first-flight win by default to help lift Haverford to an emphatic 8-1 victory.
Competing throughout the weekend against nationally ranked opposition - including No. 21 Denison - Phuah consistently took on each opponent's top player, demonstrating poise and leadership in the lineup's most demanding position.
Haverford now returns to regular-season action for the final time in 2025-26, hosting Hamilton on Senior Day at the GIAC Squash Courts on Saturday, February 21. First serve is slated for noon, and the Fords will honor senior Amy Saxon in a pre-match ceremony.
