HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's tennis team was ranked 37th in the preseason release of the 2026 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Women's Tennis Coaches Poll, the organization announced in a release on Wednesday.
The Fords posted a 10–7 overall record and a 7–1 mark in Centennial Conference play during the 2025 spring season, advancing to the conference semifinals for the seventh consecutive year. Head coach John Taft returns for his sixth season and will look to guide a young squad to the Centennial Conference postseason for the 14th time in the last 15 seasons.
Haverford welcomes six newcomers to the program, all of whom were part of the 18th-ranked recruiting class in Division III according to tennisrecruiting.net. Among the newcomers, Aarti Prochnow made an immediate impact during the fall season, earning a No. 12 ranking in the Atlantic South Region and a No. 47 national ranking after reaching the quarterfinals of singles play at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships.
The Fords face a challenging spring slate that includes nine opponents ranked in the preseason poll, highlighted by matchups against No. 11 Trinity (Texas) and No. 7 Johns Hopkins.
Haverford opens the season under the lights at the Alumni Field House on Sunday, February 22, hosting No. 39 Mary Washington at 11 a.m.
