HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's cross country team opened its 2025 season at the traditional Alumnae/Open Meet on the newly minted
Fran Rizzo Cross Country Course, with a mix of current varsity runners and returning alumnae filling the field.
Leading the alumnae runners, Angie Petrichenko '22 won the overall three-mile race with an 18:18 finish. Griffin Kaulbach '21 finished 13th overall in 21:22.
For the varsity squad,
Alice Sappenfield led Haverford with a 19:07 finish, placing second overall. Close behind,
Anastasia Jaycobs (19:13),
Savannah Shaw (19:19),
Jessie Hausman (19:33), and
Grace Chen (19:55) rounded out the team's top six.
Mid-pack finishes included
Madeline Ruchelman (20:21),
Dalia Smid (20:22),
Maia Poremba (20:23),
Keiko Chinen (20:31), and
Bianca Ortiz (20:47).
Sophia Furman (21:13) and
Audrey Carter (21:56) followed, while
Claire Parsons (23:11),
Natalie Kruglyak (23:13), and
Adriana Rogow (24:35) completed the day's finishers.
The meet serves as both a yearly reunion and a friendly but competitive race between current student-athletes and former squad members, while also acting as a key tune-up for the year ahead.
