Full NFHCA Scholars of Distinction Announcement

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Six members of the Haverford College field hockey team were named 2024 Scholars of Distinction by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NHFCA), the organization announced in a release on Friday morning.

An impressive total of 551 undergraduate student-athletes have earned well-deserved recognition as NFHCA Division III Scholars of Distinction. This distinguished program honors undergraduate student-athletes who have exhibited exceptional academic excellence, achieving a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher throughout the fall semester of the 2024-25 academic year.

The six honorees matched the most from Haverford, as six members of the team were honored in 2024.

The honorees from Haverford included Amelia Bredbenner, Louisa Coughlin, Ava Giardino, Lily Gover, Ileana Rodriguez, and Carolina Sanchez

Earlier this week, 24 members of the Haverford program were named to the Division III National Academic Squad. Haverford tied with Middlebury College for the second-most selections in Division III, trailing only Mount Holyoke College, which led the nation with 25 honorees.

The NFHCA National Academic Team awards on February 18, conclude with the announcement of the National Scholar-Athlete on February 20.
