HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College field hockey team was picked to finish seventh in the Centennial Conference, according to the 2025 preseason coaches' poll released Friday morning by the conference office.
Defending champion Johns Hopkins led the poll with 10 first-place votes and 100 points. Swarthmore followed in second with the remaining first-place vote and 86 points. Ursinus (79 points) was slotted third, while Franklin & Marshall (71) and Bryn Mawr (70) rounded out the top five.
Gettysburg placed sixth with 53 points, followed by Haverford in seventh with 46. Washington College (36), Dickinson (28), Muhlenberg (25), and McDaniel (11) completed the poll.
The Fords will look to return to the Centennial Conference Tournament in 2025 after qualifying for the third time in the past four seasons last fall. Leading the way are returning all-conference selections Naomi York and Erica Pardón.
York, a 2024 Second Team All-Centennial Conference honoree, recorded four goals and three assists on 37 total shots, with 27 on target. She delivered the game-winning penalty stroke in the victory over No. 24 Swarthmore that clinched the Fords' postseason berth and contributed two defensive saves on penalty corners.
Pardón, named All-Centennial Conference Honorable Mention in 2024, led the team with seven goals while adding four assists. Starting 17 of 18 contests, she totaled 46 shots with 31 on frame and tallied three game-winners, including decisive strikes against Eastern, Dickinson, and Susquehanna (Oct. 2).
The Fords open their 2025 season at home on Saturday, August 30, at 12 p.m. against Eastern University on Swan Field.
