FORDS WELL REPRESENTED ON ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMS
Women's lacrosse capped a historic 2026 campaign with five All-Centennial Conference selections after advancing to the program's first-ever Centennial Conference Championship game. Seniors
Lauren Anderson and
Brooke Epstein, along with rookie goalkeeper
Shaina Lewis, earned First Team honors, while
Bella Gattuso and
Finley Jordan received Second Team recognition. Head coach
Katie Wertman and her staff were named Coaching Staff of the Year after guiding the Fords to a 13-6 record, the program's first regular-season conference title (conference #1 seed), and a third straight NCAA Tournament appearance. Junior
Cameron Hamilton was also named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
FORDS IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Haverford turned in one of the strongest statistical seasons in the Centennial Conference in 2025-26, finishing first in the conference and 11th nationally in clearing percentage (.879). The Fords also ranked among the conference leaders in scoring defense (second, 8.37 goals allowed per game), assists per game (second, 7.37), turnovers per game (second, 14.37), and save percentage (third, .479). Nationally, Haverford cracked the top 20 in turnovers per game while also placing inside the top 70 in points per game, shots per game, scoring margin, and win percentage.
Individually, first-year goalkeeper Shaina Lewis emerged as one of the top netminders in Division III, ranking first in the Centennial Conference in both goals-against average (8.04) and save percentage (.495), while sitting 28th and 20th nationally in those categories, respectively. Brooke Epstein paced the attack with 58 goals and 77 points, ranking second in the conference in goals and third in points, while also placing among the national leaders in goals, shots on goal, and draw controls per game. Daniela Martini added to the offensive firepower with 37 assists, good for fourth in the conference and 62nd nationally.
FAMILIAR TERRITORY
This year marks Haverford's eighth NCAA Tournament appearance overall (1986, 1987, 1988, 1991, 2022, 2024, 2025, 2026), including its third consecutive and fourth in five seasons.
EPSTEIN CLOSING IN ON THE RECORD BOOKS
The 2026 season has been more than just a successful campaign for senior attacker Brooke Epstein—it has been a season of rewriting the Haverford women's lacrosse record books. Entering the NCAA Tournament, Epstein finds herself on the precipice of becoming the most prolific scorer in the program's history.
The Points Chase
Epstein enters the week with 282 career points, sitting just two shy of tying the all-time program record of 284 held by Lindsey Carey Bean '00. The chase reached a fever pitch in late April when Epstein surpassed Hall of Famer Liz Ames '99/00 (279) to take sole possession of second place. With 77 points already this spring, Epstein is averaging over four points per contest, making the record-tying mark a near-certainty in the opening minutes of her next outing.
The Goals Chase
Epstein enters the week with 210 career goals, behind only Carey Bean's program record of 217. She is only the second player in program history to eclipse 200 career goals.
A Season for the Ages
Epstein's senior season has been defined by consistency and clutch play. Leading the Fords with 58 goals and 19 assists, she has been the engine of the offense. Her ability to rise to the occasion was on full display in the Centennial Conference Championship game on May 3, where she was responsible for three of Haverford's five goals.
GULL GOSSIP
After capturing its third straight Conference of New England title with a 17-11 win over Roger Williams, the Endicott Gulls enter the NCAA Tournament with a 15-4 overall record and a perfect mark in conference play. The Gulls are, leading the CNE in goals scored (329), fewest goals allowed (144), scoring margin (+9.7), caused turnovers (213), ground balls (396), and clears (261), while ranking fourth nationally in scoring offense at 17.32 goals per game. Endicott is making its 15th NCAA Tournament appearance and, like Haverford, will look to secure NCAA Tournament victories in consecutive seasons for the first time in program history.
