Haverford Named IWLCA Metro Region Coaching Staff of the Year

The staff's regional recognition follows their selection as the Centennial Conference Coaching Staff of the Year, a testament to a season defined by groundbreaking milestones.

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. - The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has announced its 2026 National and Regional Coaching Staff of the Year awards, honoring the Haverford College staff as the Division III Metro Region Coaching Staff of the Year. The 2026 season marked another historic chapter for the Haverford women's lacrosse program as the Fords cemented their status among the nation's elite.

Under the leadership of Head Coach Katie Wertman and Assistant Coaches Anna Devlin, Shannon Horn '14, and Roma Hladky '22, Haverford posted a stellar 14-7 overall record. The Fords secured the top seed in the Centennial Conference Tournament for the first time in program history and captured their first-ever regular-season Centennial Conference title.

The staff's regional recognition follows their selection as the Centennial Conference Coaching Staff of the Year, a testament to a season defined by groundbreaking milestones. Among them was a landmark 13-8 victory over Franklin & Marshall, marking Haverford's first win over the Diplomats in 26 years.

The Fords also extended their postseason dominance, advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year. Haverford has now reached three straight NCAA Tournaments and qualified for four of the last five national tournaments, securing this stretch as the most successful era in program history.

The team's collective success was mirrored by elite individual accolades. Junior Finley Jordan earned Third Team All-America honors from USA Lacrosse Magazine, while seniors Brooke Epstein (Second Team) and Lauren Anderson (Third Team) were celebrated as IWLCA All-Americans.

Coach Wertman and her staff will be formally honored alongside the rest of the National and Regional winners at the IWLCA Convention this November at the Tradewinds Resort in St. Pete Beach, Florida.
