Men's Track & Field Reveals 2026 Schedule, Picked Fourth in CC Preseason Poll

HAVERFORD, Pa. — The Haverford College men's track & field team has announced its 2026 outdoor schedule, featuring a competitive slate of meets across the region beginning on Saturday, March 21. The Fords were also selected fourth in the Centennial Conference preseason poll, earning one first-place vote, as announced by the league office Thursday evening.

The Fords will open the outdoor campaign at the West Chester Purple & Gold Invitational on March 21 at 10:00 a.m. in West Chester, Pa. Haverford then heads to Chester, Pa. for the Danny Curran Invitational, beginning Friday, March 27 at 5:00 p.m. and continuing on Saturday, March 28 at 10:00 a.m.

April competition begins at the Ursinus College Track & Field Festival in Collegeville, Pa., with events scheduled for Friday, April 3 at 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 4 at 10:00 a.m. Later that same day, select distance runners will compete at the Sam Howell Distance Carnival in Princeton, N.J., beginning at 5:00 p.m.

The Scarlet and Black return to West Chester for the Bill Butler Invitational on Saturday, April 11 at 10:00 a.m., before another two-day meet at the Paul Donahue Invitational in Chester, Pa., slated for Friday, April 17 at 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 18 at 10:00 a.m.

Haverford will host its lone home meet of the season on Tuesday, April 21, welcoming teams to Johnson Track for the Haverford Tri-Meet at 3:30 p.m. The Fords then head to Philadelphia for the prestigious Penn Relays, taking place April 23–24.

Championship season begins with the Centennial Conference Championships, hosted by Gettysburg College from May 1–3. Haverford will look to qualify athletes for postseason competition at the Widener Final Qualifier on Monday, May 11 at 1:00 p.m.

The season will culminate at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, scheduled for May 21–23 in La Crosse, Wis.

In the Centennial Conference preseason poll, the Blue Jays of Johns Hopkins sit atop the rankings with seven first-place votes and 63 total points. Johns Hopkins is followed by Ursinus in second place with one first-place vote and 56 points, while Dickinson checks in third with 50 points.

Haverford earned one first-place vote and 41 total points to slot into fourth, just ahead of Muhlenberg in fifth with 36 points. Gettysburg claimed sixth with 31 points, followed by Hood Trophy rival Swarthmore in seventh with 23.

Franklin & Marshall (14 points) and McDaniel (10 points) round out the poll in eighth and ninth, respectively.

The Fords have plenty to build on entering the 2026 outdoor season after finishing sixth at last year's Centennial Conference Championships and sending two student-athletes to the NCAA Championships. Despite graduating Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Year Reza Eshghi and Second Team All-American Peter LaRochelle, Haverford returns strong momentum from a historic indoor campaign, highlighted by 12 medals at the Centennial Conference Championships. The Scarlet and Black also sent the distance medley relay team of Micah Lachman, Reef Kirchner, Thomas Fendig, and Simon Lane, along with senior Jory Lee in the triple jump, to the NCAA Championships—positioning the Fords well for another strong spring season.
