HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford College men's tennis junior Marko Arboleda (Chappaqua, N.Y. / Greeley) delivered an impressive season debut to earn Centennial Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week honors for the February 17 release of the weekly Centennial Conference awards, the first honor of the 2026 season. Arboleda was honored after playing a key role in the No. 26 Fords' dominant 7-0 victory over UC Santa Cruz at the UNLTD Tennis Academy in Media.
Arboleda opened the afternoon by teaming with Teo Bortan at second doubles, where the duo secured a strong 6-4 win to set the tone for the match as Haverford cruised to the doubles point. He carried that momentum into singles play, turning in a composed performance at the top of the lineup with a 6-4, 6-4 straight-sets triumph over Benjamin Wang in first singles.
This is the third weekly honor for Arboleda, who has now been honored with a weekly plaudit in three consecutive seasons. He was a first-team All-CC singles selection and honorable mention doubles team selection a season ago in addition to qualifying for the NCAA Singles Championships as a rookie in the spring of 2024.
The Fords, who made an NCAA tournament appearance a season ago, continue the early part of the season on Saturday, taking to Newport News, Va. for a pair of matchups against No. 24 Christopher Newport (11 a.m.) and Shenandoah (3 p.m.)
