HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College men's tennis team was ranked tied for 25th with Wesleyan (Conn.) in the preseason release of the 2026 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Men's Tennis Coaches Poll, the organization announced Wednesday.
The Fords are coming off a historic 2024–25 campaign, finishing with a 16–6 record to match the program's all-time high for wins. Haverford made its long-awaited return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in nearly 30 years, earned the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament victory, and advanced to the Centennial Conference championship match, cementing the squad as one of the most accomplished in program history. Head coach Eric Spangler returns for his fifth season at the helm, looking to guide the Scarlet and Black back to the NCAA Tournament for a second straight year.
Haverford faces a fierce spring schedule that features 11 opponents ranked in the preseason poll, featuring matches against No. 8 Swarthmore and No. 4 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
The 2026 spring season will open at UNLTD Tennis in Media, Pa., as the Fords host UC Santa Cruz on Friday, February 14, at 3 p.m.
