Men's Lacrosse Adds Will Lawlor to Staff as Assistant Coach

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford College Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Richard Carrington has announced the hiring of Will Lawlor as an Assistant Coach for the Fords, strengthening the program's coaching staff. Lawlor's first day at Haverford is January 2, 2026.

"We were fortunate to have an experienced and talented candidate pool, but Coach Lawlor stood out as someone who is passionate about supporting our program's mission of leadership development," said Carrington. "Coach Lawlor understands that Haverford is an environment that promotes student agency, and we look forward to him collaborating with our students to enhance our offensive and faceoff efforts."

Lawlor comes to Haverford after three seasons as head coach at Delaware Valley University, where he led the Aggies to 15 wins. DelVal earned five victories in 2024, including an 11-8 win over MAC Freedom foe FDU-Florham, and posted a program-record 24 goals and 28 points against Centenary (N.J.). In 2023, Lawlor guided the Aggies to six wins and coached Sean Mylod and Daniel Aulisi to All-MAC Freedom Second Team honors.

Prior to his time at Delaware Valley, Lawlor spent two seasons as a full-time assistant men's lacrosse coach at Lebanon Valley College. Working under veteran head coach John Haus, Lawlor helped bring in 36 recruits over two seasons and developed four all-conference performers. The Dutchmen improved from two wins in 2020 to eight victories in 2022 during his tenure.

Lawlor also served two seasons as head coach of the Northern Arizona University Lumberjacks in the Men's College Lacrosse Association (MCLA). In 2019, he led the program to the SLC-II Championship and an appearance at MCLA Nationals, both firsts in program history.

His coaching career began at the high school level with stops at Pope John Paul II and nearby  Lower Merion High School before moving to the college ranks. Lawlor was hired as offensive coordinator and faceoff coach at Alvernia University, where he later served as interim head coach during the summer of 2017. He then made the jump to the MCLA level as offensive coordinator and faceoff coach at the University of Arizona.

A native of St. Davids, Pa., Lawlor graduated from Rosemont in 2015 with a bachelor of arts degree in communications after transferring from Ohio Wesleyan.

A two-year starter for the Ravens, he set single-game program records for assists (7) and points (9) and earned the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Sportsmanship Award in 2014. Lawlor attended Radnor High School, a perennial state powerhouse, where he competed in lacrosse.
