Women's Cross Country Selected Fifth in CC Preseason Poll

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's cross country team has been projected to finish fifth in the Centennial Conference in 2025, according to a preseason release from the conference office on Wednesday morning.

Johns Hopkins, seeking to reclaim the conference crown, topped the poll with 60 points and six first-place votes. Gettysburg earned the final first-place vote and 58 points to place second, followed by Swarthmore in third (56 points) and Dickinson in fourth (47 points). Haverford rounded out the top five with 49 points.

Franklin & Marshall was picked sixth with 41 points, while Ursinus (30 points) and Bryn Mawr (26 points) placed seventh and eighth, respectively. Muhlenberg (20 points) and McDaniel (12 points) completed the 2025 preseason poll.

The Fords are coming off a 2024 season highlighted by a fifth-place finish at the Centennial Championships and a strong seventh-place showing at the NCAA Metro Region Championships. Haverford returns a talented core led by USTFCCCA All-Region honorees Anastasia Jaycobs and Alice Sappenfield, the 2023 Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year.

The Scarlet and Black will open their season with the annual Alumnae/Open Race on Saturday, September 6, before hosting the Main Line Invitational on Friday, September 19. Both races begin at 5:30 p.m. on the newly named Fran Rizzo Cross Country Course at Haverford College.
