NEW ORLEANS - Haverford College senior Micah Lachman (Bethesda, Md. / Sidwell Friends) has been named the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Metro Region Cross Country Athlete of the Year, the organization announced in a release on Tuesday afternoon. Award winners were determined by a vote of USTFCCCA member coaches. Only those individuals from USTFCCCA member programs are eligible for awards.
The 2025 season represents the fourth consecutive year that a Haverford runner has earned the plaudit, as Peter LaRochelle '25 was the winner in back-to-back seasons in 2024 and 2023 while Ryan Kredell '23 took home the honors in 2022. Lachman finished second at the Metro Region Championships at the DREAM Park in Gloucester, N.J. on November 15 and later placed 52nd at the NCAA DIII Cross Country Championships in Spartanburg, South Carolina last Saturday morning.
The Haverford standout previously won the individual title at the Rowan Border Battle and placed fifth at the Centennial Championships, while finishing 22nd at both the Paul Short Run and Main Line Invitational.
In addition to these regional recognitions, Lachman capped another standout campaign with first-team All-Centennial Conference honors in 2025, adding to a rapidly growing résumé that also included a USTFCCCA All-Region selections in 2023 as well as a nationals appearance that season.
