Lachman, Lane Deliver Strong Finishes at NCAA Championships

SPARTANBURG, S.C. — The Haverford College men's cross country team was represented by two top-150 finishers at the NCAA Division III Championships in Spartanburg on a sunny and warm Saturday at the Roger Milliken Center.

Senior Micah Lachman was Haverford's top finisher, crossing in 24:51.2 for a 52nd-place overall performance. Lachman, making his second NCAA Championships appearance after debuting on the national stage in 2023, saved his hardest push for the final splits as he gained 18 places between the 6K and 7K before climbing three more at the finish to secure 52nd.

First-year Simon Lane continued his impressive rookie season for the Fords, finishing 149th overall. Lane crossed in 25:39.8, capping a season that saw the Chicago-area native burst onto the scene as a formidable contender within the conference and region.

The overall championship went to Wisconsin-La Crosse for the second straight season, as UW-L posted a team score of 82 to take the crown with ease over SUNY Geneseo (132). Emmanuel Leblond of Centennial Conference rival Johns Hopkins took the individual crown in 23:35.0.

Saturday's race in the Palmetto State wrapped up the Fords' 2025 cross country campaign, as attention now shifts to the indoor track & field season, which opens Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Bow Tie Invitational on the campus of Ursinus College following the Thanksgiving holiday break.
