HAVERFORD, Pa. - First-year Advait Chandramouli (Signapore) has been named the Liberty League Men's Squash Rookie of the Week, while junior Qianzhi Zhao (Suzhou, China) was selected to the conference's weekly Honor Roll following standout performances that powered the Haverford College men's squash team to wins over two ranked Liberty League opponents at the Vassar Round Robin.
Chandramouli played a pivotal role in the Fords' victories against No. 25 St. Lawrence and No. 33 Vassar, securing two critical individual wins across the weekend.
Against St. Lawrence, Chandramouli delivered one of the day's most important results at the No. 6 position, steadying Haverford's comeback with a composed four-game victory over Dmitry Stepanenko. In Haverford's 5-4 comeback win over St. Lawrence, Zhao stepped up in the decisive match at the No. 5 position. With the dual tied 4-4, he showed exceptional composure under pressure, grinding out a crucial second game to flip momentum before pulling away for a 7-11, 12-10, 11-6, 11-3 clinching victory over Gavin Cassidy.
Zhao followed with one of the day's most dramatic efforts against Vassar, rallying from two games down for a five-game win at No. 3. After dropping the first two frames to Kyle Benson, Zhao fought back to take the third, edged a marathon fourth, and dominated the closing stages for a 5-11, 8-11, 11-9, 13-11, 11-4 victory.
The Fords have now wrapped up action for the 2025 portion of the slate, and will now return to action in the spring semester, heading to the Wesleyan / Connecticut College Round Robin for action in the Nutmeg State beginning January 16, 2026.
