LOGAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. - The Haverford College men's cross country team logged a fourth-place finish at the 2025 NCAA Division III Metro Region Championships at DREAM Park in Logan Township, N.J. on Saturday afternoon.
Senior Micah Lachman led the way for Haverford, finishing second in the 8K in 24:37.6, while first-year Simon Lane crossed the line third overall in 24:43.2. With the top seven runners not on a qualifying team earning automatic berths to the national championships, Lachman and Lane will now represent the Fords at the NCAA Championships as individual qualifiers.
Owen Bluman placed 22nd in 25:36.6, Jakob Maiwald was 27th in 25:50.0, and Torin Pelton-Flavin finished 30th in 25:50.9. By virtue of top-35 finishes at the regional meet, each will be named USTFCCCA All-Region, with the official announcement expected next week.
Luke de Valpine ran 26:12.4 for 39th place, and rookie Oliver Barr rounded out Haverford's top seven in 45th at 26:24.9.
The overall meet title went to TCNJ, who scored 56 points to finish well clear of second-place Swarthmore (76) and Moravian (81). The Fords (84) were well clear of fifth-place Rowan (179), while Stevens, DeSales, Stockton, USMMA, and Widener rounded out the top 10.
Brandon Chen of TCNJ was the overall winner, edging out Lachman down the stretch.
Lachman and Lane will represent the Fords at the NCAA Championships on Saturday, November 22, in Spartanburg, S.C. Competition at the Roger Milliken Center is slated to begin at 10 a.m.
The official NCAA selection announcement is expected on Sunday afternoon via an NCAA.com press release.
