Men’s Lacrosse Trio Collects All-Centennial Conference Honors

HAVERFORD, Pa. — The Haverford College men's lacrosse team landed three selections on the All-Centennial Conference teams, the league office announced Wednesday morning, highlighted by a First Team nod for junior long-stick midfielder Ronan West and Honorable Mention recognition for Reid Tietjen and Max Esteban.

A steady presence on both ends of the field, West appeared in and started all 15 games for the Scarlet and Black, anchoring the defensive midfield while contributing in transition. He tied for fourth in the Centennial Conference with 24 caused turnovers and ranked sixth in the league with 64 ground balls. West also led Haverford midfielders in caused turnovers (24), while his ground-ball total ranked among the top three on the team. Offensively, he added eight points on three goals and five assists, including a three-point outing (one goal, two assists) in a season-opening win over Neumann (2/13) and a two-assist performance in a non-conference win over Susquehanna (3/7). The Mamaroneck, N.Y., native also delivered multiple high-impact defensive performances, including seven-ground-ball efforts against Catholic (2/21) and McDaniel (3/21), while forcing a season-high four turnovers against Neumann (2/13) and Stockton (2/28).

On the offensive end, senior attacker Reid Tietjen earned All-Centennial Conference Honorable Mention after a dominant final season in which he led the Fords in goals (39), assists (29), points (68), shots (125), and shots on goal (77) while starting all 16 games. Tietjen ranked fourth in the Centennial in both goals and points and fifth in assists, establishing himself as one of the league's most productive playmakers. He also added 49 ground balls, third-most on the team.

The Mountain Lakes, N.J., product delivered a string of signature performances throughout the season, including a seven-point outing against Neumann (2/13) (five goals, two assists), an eight-point performance at Penn College (2/25) (three goals, five assists), and a six-point effort at McDaniel (3/21) (four goals, two assists). He also posted four-goal, two-assist performances against Washington College (4/11) and closed the season with a five-point outing in a win over Swarthmore (4/25).

Faceoff specialist Max Esteban also earned All-Centennial Conference Honorable Mention following a breakout first season as a primary option at the X. Esteban led the team in faceoff wins (140) and ground balls (79) among specialists, while ranking fourth in the Centennial in faceoff wins and among the league leaders in ground balls from the faceoff position. His possession work was a consistent difference-maker, highlighted by a 15-for-18 performance against Neumann (2/13), in which he also collected nine ground balls and added two assists, as well as multiple strong outings including a 14-for-22 performance against Washington College (4/11).

The Allentown, Pa., native's top performances also included a 12-for-26 showing at Stevens (3/11) and an 11-for-23 effort at Arcadia (2/18). He also helped fuel key conference wins with steady possession control against McDaniel (3/21), Ursinus (3/28), and Swarthmore (4/25).

In addition, senior defender Antonin Hoppmann-Salario was named to the Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team after appearing in all 16 games, recording 29 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers.
