GETTYSBURG, Pa. — The Haverford College women's track & field team closed out competition at the Centennial Conference Outdoor Championships on Sunday at Musselman Stadium, finishing seventh overall with a total of 65 team points, as several members of the squad finished strong with impressive results and personal bests.
On the track, Olivia D'Aulerio turned in one of the top performances of the day, placing third in the 400 meters with a season-best time of 57.65 to score six points. Devyn Telleen also scored in the event, finishing eighth in 1:00.94.
In the 1,500 meters, Anastasia Jaycobs led the Scarlet and Black with a fifth-place finish in 4:41.20, adding four points. Savannah Shaw followed with an eighth-place showing in 4:52.23 to score one point, while Maia Poremba placed 16th in 4:58.33.
Haverford saw a pair of scorers in the 400-meter hurdles, as Alice Sappenfield placed sixth in 1:08.48, a personal best, to earn three points. Madison Lewis added a point with an eighth-place finish in 1:09.30.
In the 5,000 meters, Jessie Hausman led the Fords with a 13th-place finish in 19:21.19. Bianca Ortiz recorded a personal-best time of 19:59.15 to place 21st, while Betty Baraki finished 27th in 20:25.65, Audrey Carter placed 28th in 20:26.15, and Keiko Chinen crossed in 30th with a time of 21:10.43.
The Fords also found success in the relays. The 4x400-meter relay team of Devyn Telleen, Anna Berry, Anastasia Jaycobs, and Olivia D'Aulerio placed fourth in 4:00.50, scoring five points and moving into 10th all-time in program history. In the 4x100-meter relay, the quartet of Nadine Tang, D'Aulerio, Taylor Denson, and Beatrice Di Girolamo finished fifth in a season-best 50.28, adding four points while moving into eighth all-time in program history.
In the field events, Grace Hannigan secured a sixth-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 10.21 meters (33 feet, 6 inches), earning three points, while Sarah Wilcher competed in the shot put, placing 11th with a throw of 10.77 meters (35 feet, 4 inches).
Next up for the Haverford women's Track & Field team, is the Widener Final Qualifying Meet in Chester, Pa. on Monday, May 11, at 1:00 p.m. This will be the last opportunity for the Fords to qualify for the NCAA Championships, scheduled for May 21-23 in La Crosse, Wis. The top 20 athletes in individual events and the top 12 relay teams will be selected to compete at the NCAA Championships.
