CHESTER, Pa. – The Haverford College women's track & field team opened competition at the Danny Curran Invitational on the campus of Widener University Friday evening, highlighted by two Centennial Conference–qualifying performances and multiple personal-best efforts.
In the 10,000 meters, Claire Parsons turned in a standout performance for Haverford, placing 26th overall with a personal-best time of 43:46.94.
The Fords saw a strong group effort in the 5,000 meters, led by Grace Chen, who placed 45th overall with a time of 19:13.41. Audrey Carter followed in 54th, clocking a personal-best 19:43.03, while Keiko Chinen finished 64th in 20:05.55, also a personal-best effort. Madeline Ruchelman added a 73rd-place finish with a time of 20:32.56, and Natalie Kruglyak rounded out the group in 85th with a personal-best 22:00.97.
In the throwing pit, Sarah Wilcher represented the Scarlet and Black in the shot put, recording a throw of 10.68 meters (35 feet, 0.50 inches) to place 17th overall.
Haverford returns to Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium in Chester, Pa., for day two of the Danny Curran Invitational, with action set to begin at 10 a.m.
