HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford women's lacrosse senior defender Lauren Anderson has been named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week, her first of her career, the conference announced in a release Tuesday morning.
Anderson anchored Haverford's defense during a 2–0 week, totaling six ground balls and five caused turnovers in victories over No. 16 Messiah and Ursinus. In the 12–7 road win at No. 16 Messiah, she recorded one caused turnover, helping the Fords contain a potent Falcons attack and maintain control throughout. She followed that performance with six ground balls and four caused turnovers in a 17–7 triumph over Ursinus in the Centennial Conference opener. The Bala Cynwyd, Pa. native played a key role in disrupting Ursinus' offensive rhythm, consistently creating extra possessions and sparking transition opportunities for the Scarlet and Black.
The senior captain has enjoyed a tremendous start to the 2026 season for the 25th-ranked Fords. She currently leads the team and ranks second in the Centennial Conference with a career-high 28 ground balls, while her 11 caused turnovers are third-most in on the team.
After a momentous week that included wins over No. 16 Messiah and Ursinus, Anderson and the Scarlet and Black face another busy slate ahead, hosting No. 16 Stevens on Wednesday, March 25 at 4 p.m., before traveling to McDaniel on Saturday, March 28 for a noon start.
