HAVERFORD, Pa. – After an illustrious rookie campaign that included National Rookie of the Year honors, Haverford College baseball sophomore infielder Jackson Sgro has been named to the 2026 D3Baseball.com Preseason All-America First Team, the organization announced Wednesday.
Sgro established himself as one of the Centennial Conference's most dangerous hitters in 2025, leading the league with a .442 batting average while collecting 50 hits, 30 runs, 11 doubles, 11 home runs, and 43 RBI. He posted a .504 on-base percentage and an .832 slugging percentage, ranking 13th nationally in batting average, 17th in home runs per game (0.37), and 20th in RBI per game (1.43).
The Hopewell, N.J., product recorded 19 multi-hit games, highlighted by a four-hit performance at Ursinus on April 18 and a six-RBI outing against Washington College the following day. He closed his first collegiate season with home runs in each of his final three games of the Centennial Conference Tournament, helping the Fords advance to the championship final.
The 2026 season opens on the road Feb. 28 as the Fords travel to Camden, N.J., for a season-opening doubleheader at Rutgers–Camden before continuing road play with a matchup at Rowan on March 5.
