HAVERFORD, Pa. — The Haverford College men's fencing program earned national recognition this week as the Fords entered the United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA) Midseason Coaches' Poll at No. 8 in Division III.
The ranking marks Haverford's first appearance in the national poll this season and places the Fords among the top programs in Division III midway through the 2025-26 campaign. Haverford is one of eight teams nationally to be ranked in the Midseason Poll, which is voted on by collegiate fencing coaches across the country.
Haverford competes in the Mid-Atlantic/South region and joins several traditionally strong programs in the Division III rankings with NYU (Northeast) slotted first, followed by regional foe Johns Hopkins, Brandeis (Northeast), Vassar (Northeast), MIT (Northeast), Tufts (Northeast), and regional rival Drew.
The Fords will look to build on their early-season success as they continue conference and regional competition later this winter, returning to action with a pair of competitions this weekend.
Mens' Fencing will compete on Saturday, January 17 at the Philadelphia Invitational, hosted by Penn, before heading down to Baltimore to take on Johns Hopkins on Sunday, January 18.
