HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's soccer team was selected to finish sixth in the Centennial Conference, according to the 2025 preseason coaches' poll released Monday morning by the conference office.
Defending Centennial Conference champion Johns Hopkins topped the poll with nine first-place votes and 99 points. Swarthmore followed in second place with one first-place vote and 85 points. McDaniel was tabbed third with 78 points, while Franklin & Marshall earned the final first-place vote to place fourth with 75 points. Dickinson rounded out the top five with 72 points, just ahead of Haverford in sixth with 54 points—projecting the Fords as the final team in the 2025 playoff picture.
Gettysburg ranked seventh with 41 points, followed closely by Washington College in eighth with 40 points. Muhlenberg was slotted ninth with 26 points, while Ursinus (10th, 24 points) and Bryn Mawr (11th, 11 points) completed the preseason poll.
After claiming the final playoff spot in 2024, the Fords look to return to postseason play in 2025. Key to their effort will be the return of the standout center back duo of Lauren Anderson and Abigale Baker. The pair anchored a defense that produced nine shutouts and held opponents to just 0.95 goals per game last season. Anderson also contributed offensively with six points on one goal and four assists, while Baker added a goal of her own.
The Fords will open their 2025 campaign on the road in Glenside, Pa., taking on Arcadia at 4 p.m. on Friday, August 29.
