HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's indoor track & field team has been selected to finish fourth in the Centennial Conference preseason poll, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday morning.
Reigning champion Johns Hopkins, which secured its 12th consecutive title during the 2024–25 season, topped the poll with seven first-place votes and 63 total points. Ursinus followed in second with one first-place vote and 57 points. Dickinson claimed third with the final remaining first-place vote and 51 points, while Haverford earned 40 points to place fourth. Gettysburg rounded out the top five with 32 points. Muhlenberg checked in sixth with 30 points, followed by Swarthmore (24 points) in seventh and McDaniel (17 points) in eighth. Franklin & Marshall completed the poll in ninth with 10 points.
After placing fourth at last season's Centennial Conference Championships, Haverford enters a new era following the graduation of D3CA Region V Men's Student-Athlete of the Year and 3,000-meter national runner-up Reza Eshghi '25 and 2023–24 CSC Academic All-American and three-time USTFCCCA All-Region honoree Peter LaRochelle. Despite those significant departures, the Fords return a promising core, highlighted by senior Jory Lee and sophomores Thomas Fendig and Reef Kirchner.
Lee, a two-time Centennial Conference Honorable Mention selection in the triple jump, currently holds the fourth-best mark in program history in that event. Fendig, a Centennial Conference Second Team performer in the 4x200 relay, recorded the seventh-fastest 400-meter time in Haverford history last season. Kirchner made an immediate impact during his rookie campaign, posting the fourth-fastest 800-meter time in the Metro Region and earning All-Metro Region honors.
The Fords are gearing up to begin the 2025–26 campaign at the Bow Tie Invitational, hosted at the Floy Lewis Bakes Center on the campus of Ursinus College. Competition is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 6.
