HAVERFORD, Pa. — The Haverford College men's and women's fencing teams have officially announced their scheduels for the 2025-2026. The men's fencing team will compete in 11 meets, while the women's team will square off in 10 before the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional Championships, set for March 7. Returning to the helm for both squads is Head Coach Christine Griffith, entering her second season in charge.
The season begins for both teams on October 25 at the Coach Nikki Franke Classic, hosted by Temple University. Following the opener, the Fords will head north to New Jersey for the Drew Invitational on November 1–2, where both squads will compete in a two-day slate of dual matches against regional opponents.
After the early-season road stretch, the Scarlet and Black return home to host the Alumni Bouts on November 22 in the Andy Kates Fencing Salle, followed by the MACFA B vs. C event on November 23 inside Alumni Field House.
In December, both programs will travel to Brandeis University for the newly-named Carla-Mae Invitational on December 7, wrapping up the fall portion of the schedule. The event honors Carla-Mae Richards, a Brandeis alumna who became USA Fencing's first full-time executive director (1983–94) and was instrumental in developing the modern North American Cup format.
The Fords resume competition in the new year at the Dave Micahnik Penn Invitational on January 17, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania. The event, newly renamed in honor of the decorated former fencer and longtime Quakers head coach, will once again feature elite competition from across the region. The Fords will then compete at the Johns Hopkins Invitational in Baltimore on January 18, followed by the Penn State Invitational in University Park on January 25.
While the men's and women's fencing teams share much of their winter schedule, they diverge slightly during the latter part of the season. Both programs will host the Fords vs. Rangers Battle on February 8. The men's squad will then travel to the MACFA C Round Robin hosted by Navy on February 14, while the women's team will head to the EWFC Championships at Vassar College on February 15.
The following weekend, the women's team continues its championship slate at the NIWFA Championships at Drew University on February 28, while the men's team will participate in the MACFA Championships on March 1, also hosted by Drew.
The postseason culminates with the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional Championships at Vassar College on March 7, leading into the NCAA Championships, hosted by the University of Notre Dame from March 19–22.
