HAVERFORD, Pa. — Haverford College men's cross country senior Owen Bluman was named the Centennial Conference Athlete of the Week, the conference announced in a release on Tuesday.
Bluman led the Fords at Friday's Main Line Invitational, placing seventh overall in 19 minutes, 48.6 seconds on the four-mile course at the Fran Rizzo Cross Country Course at Haverford College. The Pittsburgh native and Taylor Allderdice graduate was the top Division III finisher in a 128-runner field that featured competitors from all three NCAA divisions. Bluman's performance helped Haverford finish as the meet's top Division III team. The Fords placed third overall, trailing only Division I programs Stony Brook and George Mason.
The weekly honor is the first of Bluman's career in the cross country campaign, and adds to an accomplished cross country résumé. He earned All-Metro Region recognition following the 2025 season and was also named a 2025 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Athlete. Bluman was selected to the 2025 PhillySIDA Academic All-Area team and the 2026 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team. He also earned spots on the Centennial Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll in 2024 and 2025.
Bluman previously opened the 2026 campaign by winning Haverford's Alumni/Open Race, completing the three-mile course in 14:38.1.
Men's Cross Country now has a little under to prepare for the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh University on Friday, Oct. 2, in Bethlehem, Pa. Racing is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.
