NEW ORLEANS – The Haverford College men's cross country team moved into the top spot in the Metro Region in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) rankings.
Haverford climbed five positions after entering the season ranked sixth in the region. Haverford is listed as the region's projected automatic qualifier, with No. 2 TCNJ next in line. Moravian, Swarthmore and Rowan round out the top five.
Haverford opened its fall campaign with the Alumni Race on Sept. 5 at the Fran Rizzo Cross Country Course at Haverford College. Owen Bluman led the way, winning the three-mile race in 14:38.1. Luke de Valpine finished second in 14:44.7, while Simon Lane placed third in 14:53.5.
Men's Cross Country now returns to action Friday, September 18, when they host the Main Line Invitational at the Fran Rizzo Cross Country Course at Haverford College. The men's four-mile race is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. with the women's 5K race kicking off action at 4:45 p.m.
