ALLENTOWN, Pa. — The Haverford College men's lacrosse team (8-5, 2-3 CC) fell to (RV) Muhlenberg (7-6, 2-2 CC) by a 16–5 final on Wednesday evening at Scotty Wood Stadium, as the Mules used a decisive third quarter to pull away.
Nick Snyder led the offense with three goals and an assist, converting twice on extra-man opportunities. Reid Tietjen added a goal and an assist, including an unassisted tally that moved the senior into sixth all-time in program history with 179 career points, surpassing Matt Richards '25 (178). Ethan Waugh also found the back of the net, while Max Esteban went 8-for-16 at the faceoff X. Esteban, Ronan West, and Antonin Hoppman-Salario each collected four ground balls, while Caden Matulonis caused a career-high three turnovers and Chris O'Connor added two. In goal, Mac Broaddus made eight saves, while Peter Del Col added three stops in relief.
Muhlenberg controlled the early momentum in the first quarter, opening the scoring with a goal from Luc Belvill at 12:13 to push the lead to 1–0. Parker Kusko added a tally at 1:52 to extend the margin to 2–0, before Aidan Fairweather closed the quarter with a goal at 1:05, pushing the lead to 3–0.
The Mules continued to build their advantage in the second quarter, as Flynn Decker scored at 14:18 to push the lead to 4–0, followed by a goal from Chase Kusko at 12:00 to make it 5–0. Haverford answered with a man-up goal from Snyder at 11:15, assisted by Tietjen, trimming the deficit to 5–1. Muhlenberg responded late in the half with a goal from Daniel Friedel at 3:37, extending the lead to 6–1 heading into the break.
Muhlenberg seized full control in the third quarter, beginning with Belvill's goal just 27 seconds in to push the lead to 7–1. Chase Kusko and Decker followed with quick strikes, extending the margin to 9–1. Tietjen responded with an unassisted goal at 6:04 to cut the deficit to 9–2, but the Mules answered with a sustained run. Parker Kusko scored at 4:58 to make it 10–2, and Connor Sutton followed to push the lead to 11–2. Jacob Apat added another to extend the advantage to 12–2, before Kusko struck again to make it 13–2. Belvill closed the quarter with his second goal of the frame, pushing the lead to 14–2.
In the fourth quarter, Muhlenberg added to its lead with goals from Charlie Lowery at 11:42 and Belvill at 10:27, extending the margin to 16–2. Haverford mounted a late push, beginning with Waugh's goal at 3:48, assisted by Snyder, to cut the deficit to 16–3. Snyder then converted on a man-up opportunity at 2:00 to make it 16–4, before adding his third goal at 1:05 off an assist from Philip Passalaqua to trim the final margin to 16–5.
Haverford will return home on Saturday, April 11, hosting (RV) Washington College on Swan Field with opening faceoff slated for 12 p.m.
