HAVERFORD, Pa. — The Haverford College men's lacrosse team (8-6, 2-4 CC) dropped a heartbreaking 12–11 overtime decision to (RV) Washington College (11-3, 5-1 CC) on Saturday afternoon at Swan Field. The Fords surged with a five-goal fourth quarter to briefly claim an 11–10 advantage, but Washington College answered with the equalizer in the final seconds of regulation before netting the game-winner in overtime. Haverford controlled possession throughout, winning 16 of 27 faceoffs and collecting 41 ground balls.

Reid Tietjen paced the Scarlet and Black with four goals and two assists, moving into ninth place on Haverford's all-time scoring list with 110 career goals. Philip Passalaqua added a six-point outing with two goals and four assists, while Nick Snyder tallied three goals on a perfect shooting day. Max Esteban went 14-for-22 at the faceoff stripe to key the possession battle. Defensively, Nils Bergstrom, Antonin Hoppman-Salario, and JT Anderson each caused three turnovers, with Kolin Brandeis scooping up a career-high six ground balls. Mac Broaddus made 15 saves in goal for Haverford.

Washington College opened the scoring at 13:08 of the first quarter as Reeve Hargrave (from Luca Signorello) made it 1–0, but Snyder answered at 12:27 off a Turner Elliott assist to tie the game at 1–1. Jake Laubach gave the Shoremen a 2–1 edge at 9:32 before Tietjen evened the score at 2–2 off a Charlie Vaccaro feed. Tietjen struck again at 5:35, set up by Elliott, to give Haverford its first lead at 3–2. The Shoremen closed the quarter with two goals in quick succession, as Nate Winters (from Carson Crawford) tied the game at 3–3 before Peyton Gestole (from Talan Behler) sent Washington College into the second quarter ahead, 4–3.

WAC added to its lead in the second quarter, beginning with an unassisted goal from Aiden Ventura at 9:43 to make it 5–3. Winters (from Gestole) pushed the margin to 6–3 at 7:57, and Paxson Warnock followed with an unassisted tally at 6:43 for a 7–3 advantage. Passalaqua halted the run at 5:42, finishing a Bergstrom assist to cut the deficit to 7–4, but Laubach responded unassisted at 4:48 to give Washington College an 8–4 halftime lead.

Out of the break, the Fords began to chip away as Tietjen scored at 12:30 off a Passalaqua assist to make it 8–5. Weinstein followed at 10:08, converting a feed from Tietjen to bring Haverford within 8–6. Washington College answered at 6:34, with Gestole (from Behler) extending the lead to 9–6 heading into the fourth quarter.

The Scarlet and Black erupted in the final frame. Snyder opened the quarter at 14:14 off Passalaqua to make it 9–7, and Tietjen followed at 11:25, again from Passalaqua, to cut the deficit to 9–8.
