HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford men's basketball team will get an early start on preparations for the 26-27 season during a 7-day tour of Greece in mid-May.  The Fords will land in Athens on May 14th and play three games against Greek club teams before returning to the United States on May 21st.

The first two games will be played on May 15th & 16th against Euroleague powers Olympiacos and Panathinaikos respectively, after which the team will travel to Mykonos for a 2-day visit to the island.  The third and final game of the trip will take place on May 20th in Athens before the Fords return home.  Other highlights of the trip will include a visit to the Acropolis as well as swimming at the Athens Riviera and Super Paradise Beach in Mykonos.

"This is going to be an unforgettable experience for our guys, and I'm so grateful that we get to continue growing as a team while traveling internationally and competing against some of the most well-known and respected clubs in the world," shared Coach Doherty.   

This is the first international trip for the Fords since a 2018 Fall Break trip to Ireland.  The upcoming trip to Greece has been made possible due to the generosity of current Ford family members and alumni, as well as an extraordinary gift from class of 2006 alum John Elefterakis.  John holds the all-time assists record for Haverford Men's Basketball and continues to "spread the sugar" and support the student-athlete experience at Haverford.
