Lee Finishes 13th in Triple Jump at NCAA Championships, Earns Second Team All-America

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Senior Jory Lee represented the Haverford College men's track and field program in the triple jump on Saturday afternoon at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Birmingham Crossplex, earning second-team All-America honors with a 13th-place finish and a top mark of 13.98 meters (45-10½).

Competing against a deep national field, Lee recorded his best mark on his third attempt during the preliminary round. The senior opened the competition with a jump of 13.69 meters (44-11) before posting a 13.58-meter (44-6¾) effort on his second attempt. Lee then produced his top mark of the day in round three, reaching 13.98 meters to move up the standings and finish just shy of the nine-athlete cutoff for the event final.

With his finish inside the top 16 nationally, Lee secured second-team All-America recognition to cap his indoor season. His performance adds another milestone to Lee's already decorated career.

The event title went to Carter Pearson of University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, who captured the national championship with a winning mark of 15.01 meters (49-3).Joshua Justin of Rowan University finished second with a top mark of 14.93 meters (48-11¾). Third place went to Keenan Powell of Greenville, who recorded a jump of 14.90 meters (48-10¾).

Lee's effort wraps up the indoor campaign for Haverford, which now turns its attention to the outdoor season. The Fords will open the spring slate on Saturday, March 21, at the WCU Purple & Gold Invitational in West Chester, with events scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
