CANTON, N.Y. — The No. 30 Haverford College men's squash team (5-12) fell in a tight battle, dropping a 5–4 decision to No. 27 Denison (8-6) on Sunday afternoon in the third-place match of the Liberty League Championships at the Robie Squash Center on the campus of St. Lawrence University.
In the first flight, Juan Felipe Hernandez defeated Aaryaman Jaising, 3-0 (11-3, 11-4, 11-6). Moving to the second rung of the ladder, Nathan Cukierman followed with another 3-0 win over Henry Jiang (11-9, 11-2, 11-4).
In the third flight, Charlie Fenwick IV earned a 3-1 victory against Ben Levy (11-5, 11-8, 8-11, 11-6). Shortly after, Alex DeLuca posted a 3-1 result over Kai Schinaman III on the fourth rung of the ladder (11-5, 14-12, 9-11, 11-9).
Haverford answered in the fifth flight, as Jet Li secured a 3-1 triumph against Ross Falcon (17-15, 9-11, 14-12, 11-9). Continuing the momentum, Qianzhi Zhao recorded a 3-1 win over Jackson Bragman on the sixth rung of the ladder (7-11, 11-8, 11-6, 11-7).
The seventh flight featured a tightly contested five-game battle, with Advait Chandramouli defeating Aimaan Zakaria, 3-2 (8-11, 12-10, 7-11, 13-11, 11-2). In the eighth rung of the ladder, Dean Ibrahim collected a 3-0 sweep against Wylly Molten (11-8, 11-3, 13-11).
The match concluded in the ninth flight, where Rayyan Arif edged Nevin Mital in another five-game contest, 3-2 (7-11, 11-8, 16-14, 5-11, 11-9).
The Scarlet and Black will return to the GIAC Squash Courts for their final regular-season match, hosting Hamilton for Senior Day at 12 p.m.
