HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford College men's squash rookie Dean Ibrahim has been named the Liberty League Rookie of the Week for January 19, the league office announced this afternoon.
Ibrahim, a native of Quincy, Mass., put together an exceptional weekend for Haverford men's squash, going a perfect 3–0 at the Wesleyan/Connecticut College Round Robin against strong competition. He opened play with a composed straight-game win at the No. 8 position versus Denison, delivering a crucial point as the match progressed.
He then followed with a hard-fought five-game victory against Wesleyan, showcasing his poise in a match that came down to the final flight. Ibrahim closed the weekend in dominant fashion with a quick three-game sweep against Connecticut College, cementing his impact during one of the team's most competitive stretches of the season.
After a weekend off, men's squash next eturns to action on Thursday, January 29, against No. 15 Navy at the GIAC Squash Courts, with first serve scheduled for 6 p.m.
